Found a deal for one of these for about $175. I know Sunn have made some good amps, but I really only know the Solaris line.

I'm thinking for the price it's almost a no brainer. But it's 60W, and I really only need an amp for bedroom stuff.

but I don't have an amp right now.

So, should I get it? How versatile is it, what sounds will it do well, etc? I can't really find much info on this amp.

It's a solid state practice amp. Not too bad as 80's SS practice amps go but it is what it is. Not a bad crunch really, better than an MG but that's not really saying much. No idea what they cost where you are, or where you are for that matter.

It’s a 60 watt high-gain fuzz pedal. If that’s all you need you’re fine. If you need anything else, don’t bother.

Yeah, they are a bit. Still better than an MG though.

I have one. They are good, not exactly great. The distortion is rather weak, but they take pedals well. I boost mine with a RAT and it sounds awesome. But it's a practice amp, as far as I'm concerned.

When I jam, it's all about the Sunn Beta Lead.
