This is an old song of mine, and I always kinda liked the lyrics. I'm Christian, so I hope that it isn't too cliche. I am always reflecting on the hypocrisy of Christian culture, and how we aren't any better then the priests that crucified Jesus. Anyways.

"We're All Pharisees"

Verse 1

Stagnant, shallow
This is the path we are doomed to follow
We are but shells of what we were made to be
We are but shells of what we were made to be

Pre Chorus

Our bodies are broken down
We all proudly wear our broken crowns
Our bodies are broken down
We all proudly wear our broken crowns

Chorus

You know something's wrong
When the gears start turning backwards
You know something's wrong
When our focus is turning inwards x2

Verse 2

Arson is not the answer this time
All these bridges you're burning will collapse on top of you

Complacency is our disease
And I'll admit I am the worst one that you'll see
Holier than thou is our sweet release
The truth of the matter is that we are all pharisees

Chorus

You know something's wrong
When the gears start turning backwards
You know something's wrong
When our focus is turning inwards x2

Ending

So wallow in your pride
This is proof that something's dead inside
You are dead inside x2
Hypocrite x2
