AFAIK matt uses a bad horsie 2.

You can likely find one used for a fair price.

I've got two Morleys; a PWA and a Maverick Mini. They are both good for different reasons.
The PWA has the swich beside the treadle so you can park it and switch it on and off without disturbing the position. It's your classic old Morley wah sound
The Maverick is like a miniature Bad Horsie. It is switchless, just step on it and it turns on. Has a more modern sound like a Bad horsie. It is small so it's easier to fit on a board but not so small that it's hard to use. I quite like it.

And this devoted... What to the conversation exactly?

TS, the Bad Horsie (or the 2) is an awesome pedal. I'd try and grab one.
I'm just a kickin' and a gougin' in the mud and the blood and the beer.

Agreed on Bad Horsie. Killer for high gain wah'ing.

EBAY! Just ebay it, you can get a dunlop GCB95 in good condition for well under £100.

RMC is what i would get to do it again, but i have a fulltone and for how much i use it, it really does the job. and i also like that the travel of the pedal is increased so that IMO is a big plus $95 in box from TGP, probably won't find that again.

What kind of ****** would spend £100 on a GCB95? Even with stupid UK prices/VAT they're ~£60 new at Thomann. They're mediocre as hell anyways and won't even get close to the tone that OP wants.

My bad, just checked ebay now and they're like £35 tops.
Close to the tone OP wants? He is on a low budget dude. And anyway, you can get anything cheap off ebay.

mediocre?
I wouldn't give them that much credit.
Stock they suck donkey balls.
My GCB95 kicks ass though but I've done pretty much every mod to it.

I never liked the Morely Bad Horsie.
Yeah, it sounded good, but the whole "Take your foot off and it turns off" made it useless to me.

No love for Vertex?

I didn't think I'd like the switchless thing either but with the way I use a wah now it's really good. I'm not wanting to park the pedal these days. I have both now so if that changes in the future I can always resurrect the PWA.

Another vote for the Bad Horsie 2. I used to use the GCB 95 and after uing the Morley it is better in every department, especially with higher gain

i am not trying to be a jackass, but most things are better modded if done properly. if he has no idea what he wants, i doubt that he is going to be mod it. IMO. i don't find them impressive as well.

Nah, not being an ass at all. Who the hell are you and where is the real trashedlostfdup?
Just saying that the GCB95 is not a very good choice.
I only bought mine because I offered the pawn shop that had it $25.

I don't like them either, especially when using distortion. For high gain, Morley is the way to go IMO.

.

my main point is not too many people who don't know a lot about a pedal (OP) would mod it as well or as likely you or i or some others.

And when you factor in that you have to change the actuator pot when it wears out, they aren't really any cheaper. Any extra cost incurred with Morley is negated the first time you have to replace a scratchy pot on the Dunlop.

Matt uses a Morley Bad Horsie
Michael Paget uses a Dunlop SW-95 Slash wah

Paget does most of the soloing.

IIRC Matt only solos on the intro to Hearts Burst Into Fire, The intro solo on Say Goodnight, and 4 Words to Choke Upon
He may do a few more, but that's all I remember off of the top of my head

(Just about the switchless bit) I bought a Crybaby Bass wah a while back just for the switchless feature, and I will admit that it doesn't sound all that great with a regular Six string guitar, I love that I can just walk up to it and begin sweeping
On another note I love my Jerry Cantrell Wah, with it's freq knob on the side but I find I have to have a buffered pedal in front of it for the best possible sound
I've heard The band you are asking about but not enough to determine what would be a good wah for his sound
Not sure if any of that will help you but that's all I got lol
