Amp: Peavey Vypyr VIP 1 (That's the 20W model). It's a modeling amp.
Two or three days ago, my amp started doing this weird thing of going quiet when playing. This is only happening on the 6505, 6534, and the British amps though. Everything else works fine (as far as I know). If I'm playing the chord/note gently, it would sound fine. But if I strum or pluck hard, it goes quieter. I tried changing the cables. I tried using a different guitar. I checked the electricity and the grounding. Everything. I can't figure out what's wrong.
*********LOWER VOLUME. It's loud********
Here's a clip of what it sounds like. Ignore the horrid playing.

I didn't change anything while playing. The amp was untouched, and so were the volume and tone knobs on my guitar. And throughout the entire thing, I was using my bridge pickup. This is just the amps with no effects. Stompbox is on bypass.

EDIT: While using the triple X now, it happened, but not as major as it was on the amps mentioned. It just happened and went quickly.

It could be a lot of things but the first thing I'd try is to reload/update the firmware.

It's modelling valve power amp output valves wearing out.

This is gibberish - in all ways.

Nah, it was actually a funny joke. Peavey's modelling technology is so advanced that even simulates the power tubes on those amp models going out. Must be the amp models TS uses the most.

Sounds like a software thing to me? Can you update this things? Or maybe there is a bad connection in there somewhere, but i cant see how that would affect only certain amp models.

I'm no electric-circuits expert or anything, but I'm fairly sure this is a load of dung...

@Everyone else, thanks guys. I'll update the software today when I get home and we'll see what happens.

It's a load of dung but that's what you're going to do?

Am I missing another joke?

Maybe where he's from a "load of dung" is highly valued.

Oh no my bad. I meant to quote the guy saying the valves are wearing out. *facepalm* that's what I get for doing this on a phone.
