www.vice.com

Vice is really weird. Sometimes it gives some really thought provoking articles that are funny and well written. On the other hand some of the stuff it posts is so inflammatory, self righteous, and absolutely poorly written. I don't know why the quality of editing can be so completely different.

Also bonus points if you give your opinion on Huffington Post too.

Just looking at that, apparently there's an article about how the Celtics/Rangers derby will have an affect on the referendum

will it really? Surely the supporters of those clubs are supporters because they like the clubs, not because of their political affiliations?

on second thought, I just saw an article about the new Mono track maybe this isn't that bad a site after all.

Kind of hilariously bad journalism. Their parody account is spot-on

I find it really difficult to differentiate between parody article titles and real Vice article titles. Exhibit A:

Sometimes I like watching their documentaries but with the knowledge that it is bad, sensationalist journalism.

They try way too hard to be hip.

Ali pretty much hit the nail on the head in his post.

I watch some of their YT videos, from what i've seen of Shane Smith I really like him.... Joe Rogan Experience is always great with him there. I'm not sure what role he plays with Vice anymore though, but his work is great.

Also, Weediquette has some of the better material....

Hamilton's Farmacopeia always makes me laugh though haha. He gets so much hate.

It's largely political and/or religious.

Their Youtube is a pretty fun watch if you're bored.

Completely hit and miss though.

I like their drug specials. And I still don't get why dealers/manufactures let people record them for the world to see. And how people don't find it suspicious when there's a drug dealer with their face all covered up and a guy with a big ass camera following them around.

Their 20 minute documentaries are usually pretty good. The Suicide Forest one is probably my favorite.

Meh, as had been said, they seem to cover two entirely different types of journalism in one.

On the one hand you get writers who seem to just be professionally sarcastic, making snide remarks about London bars or some shit, and on the other hand you get really good documentaries and well-informed pieces on more serious subjects.

On the whole though, I'm a fan. The shit stuff is occasionally quite entertaining, and the more serious stuff is usually pretty engaging.

Their documentary on the IS is pretty interesting, for anyone who's not seen it.

EDIT: The whole "Dos and Don'ts" section though is an entire mess. I don't think even they know if they're being ironic or not there.

EDIT 2: Then at the other end of the spectrum you have stuff like this:
http://www.vice.com/en_uk/read/lfw-street-style-bloggers-942

"I Dressed Like an Idiot at London Fashion Week to See How Easy It Is to Get Street Snapped"

Clearly self-indulgent, stupidly sarcastic psuedo-journalism, but still quite entertaining.
