I was wondering, does anyone know the popular scales and chord progressions used in a lot of Post-Hardcore music?

Think bands like: Alexisonfire, Brand New, The Used, From First to Last, Thrice, Jimmy Eat World, Chiodos, Underoath, MCR, Taking Back Sunday, Circa Survive, AFI, 30 Seconds to Mars, Flyleaf, Haste the Day, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Just Major and Minor? I somehow don't think they only use those two scales in whatever keys. There seems to be a lot of scales I don't recognize. I'm a blues guy, so I obviously use the major, minor and pen scales mostly. But for writing, I don't see a lot of Major/Minor influence in these bands.

MCR definitely uses a lot of superlocrian modes

also Schoenberg's tone rows are really popular in the genre

listen for #11s played by piccolos, they like to sneak those in there too
