Hi all,

New to this forum.

I just started taking rhythmguitar lessons and was recommended to get hold of a drum machine for practicing.

So far I'm a bit lost and a search on WWW and this forum, haven't helped.

I have had a look at what's up for grab 2nd. hand locally, and come up with the following at around $100:

BOSS DR 550 MK II
BOSS DR 5
BOSS Dr Rhythm
ZOOM RT123
ZOOM RT223
Roland TR-505
Digitech RP 55

What would you recommend for someone starting out learning rhythm guitar?

Also I had a look at the BeatBuddy, which seems to be a device specifically for the job, but it's a bit outside my budget. Sadly.

Cheers!

All of those are options, however it would probably be worth considering investing in a Zoom G3/G5.

They include a drum machine, but have loads of other features as well.
Gibson LP Traditional, LP GT, LP Studio, SG Standard x2
Barber Tone Press > EHX Worm >TC Polytune > MXR Custom Badass 78 > EXH Glove > EHX East River Drive > Zoom G3 > TC Spark Mini Booster
Laney VC30

Could you not just use a metronome?

The Zoom g1on is $50 and has drum machine and looper. I have a DR-5 and like it very much. I paid $60 for mine used. The drum machine in multifx are very limited but still useful.
