I just bought my dream guitar a Gibson Les Paul Standard. I want to keep it in great shape for the rest of my life. What should i do to keep it clean and running for years to come. What should i do to it and when every months 6 months every year? thanks please give me advice

Lucky you, keep it in the case, treat the fretboard with lemon oil each string change, polish the hardware. It should last your whole life and longer. Watch out for big changes in humidity too.

Keep it in the case and humidified when not playing. Wipe it down after playing to avoid the hardware corroding. When you change the strings, clean the fretboard with lemon oil.

You don't necessarily need any polish, just lemon oil for the fretboard. Dunlop makes a pretty good maintenance kit though.
