Hello

I just fitted my Taylor GS mini with the JJB 330 piezo pickup and running it through my new Fishman Loudbox Mini, but I noticed that there is quite a lot of difference in the output/volume between the strings.

Especially the low E and high E and B have a lot of output and volume, while the A, G and D don't. I can still hear them in my amp, but not as pronounced it makes my acoustic sound very unbalanced

I'm afraid I might have put 3 transducers 100% aligned under the bridge (inside guitar), but I'm not sure.

Will I need to replace the pickup (super glued) or can I buy a preamp life the LR Baggs Para preamp, to make the low output strings more pronounced?

Also, the guitar sounds 100% balanced unplugged

1st thing, are you using new strings or old ones? My 6th string was really low compared to the rest last week at a gig, that's the only reason it would do that, it's always been great till now. Can't hear the difference unplugged.

If the strings are new, you may have the transducers misaligned.
Hmmm...I wonder what this button does...

I have those Elixir nano web strings on (3 month old), but they are known to last a long time, and they still sound pretty good.

Also, is it difficult to realign the transducers, given that they are superglued?

Change them first and see if that works

Alright I will

But how crucial is precise placement of the piezo transducers? Are we talking precision to the mm?

I have never installed a Piezo, so I can't comment on that. I would think placement would matter though

It matters a little but not terribly so. They are just a type of microphone that picks up the vibration from the bridge. They're not like normal electric guitar pickups where the string is effectively part of the mecahnism and has to aligned to a pole. Even with those you don't have to be spot on, piezos even less so because they don't act directly with the strings themselves, just the bridge.
