Here's my first songwriting post on here. This is called "I Wanna Be Like Johnny"

Verse 1

Don't speak to me
Unless you've walked the line
Get the rhythm
One piece at a time

Pre-Chorus

Through my life
I've always
Wanted to walk through the ring of fire

Chorus

I wanna be like Johnny Cash
Feared like the Man in Black
Rock so hard I'm a rock your ass
Give me a love like June
Who will write me the perfect tune
I wanna be like Johnny

Verse 2

My daddy didn't name me Sue
So I never learned the lessons I needed to
Never been to jail out there
Never had them Folsom Prison Blues

Pre-Chorus

Through my life
I've always
Wanted to walk through the ring of fire

Chorus

I wanna be like Johnny Cash
Feared like the Man in Black
Rock so hard I'm a rock your ass
Give me a love like June
Who will write me the perfect tune
I wanna be like Johnny

Bridge

Don't take your guns into town
When Sunday mornings comin down

Chorus

I wanna be like Johnny Cash
Feared like the Man in Black
Rock so hard I'm a rock your ass
Give me a love like June
Who will write me the perfect tune
I wanna be like Johnny

Tag

Don't give a damn no more
I wanna be like Johnny

so tried out.

It's so. . . "tried" out because it works. If you meant "tired", well, again, it works. It's what has worked for untold ages.

For some reason your song reminds me of that part in Bowling for Soup's song "Punk Rock 101" where they go "Tommy and Gina they're livin' on a prayer!"

I hope that's a good thing because I have never heard of that
