Hello. Wondered if anyone can give me any insight into this guitar I inherited?

Seems to work, few little chips and needs a clean, but other than that...

Do you have any idea of the guitar's age? It looks like a Charvel Model 1.

Nope, absolutely no idea of its age. Hoped that number on the back might be a clue...?

Yeah, that's a Charvel Model 1. You're looking at 1986-87 for the year. That's not from the serial number, it's just the years that those were produced. Built in the Chushin Gakki factory, Japan. They always used Fort Worth, TX neck plates in that period even on the Japanese models.

It also looks like the end of the headstock has been damaged, or somebody's chopped it off.

Charvel Model 1, year is definitely 1986. they're fairly valuable nowadays. Incredible playing guitars btw.

I agree, someone chopped off the point on the end of the headstock.
Still a cool guitar.
