My JVM410H tubes are going out and I need to buy a set of tubes soon.
I play all kinds of metal. Im looking for something that will be punchy, more gain, and loud of course.
I was looking into doing the mesa boogie 12ax7`s and JJ E34L power tubes.
what do you think? thanks!

Mesa tubes are just JJs with a different label on them. No point spending extra on those.

You could try a Tung-Sol in V1 but I'd agree with all JJs too.

You also might want to try a Sovtek 12ax7lps in the PI or if you don't mind spending a little, a NOS JAN 5751 it will help tame the fizz in that amp.

^ I only like the Sovtek 12ax7lps and I'm only a fan of it as a phase inverter. I'd stick a new Mullard 12ax7 in V1 and JJ ecc803 in the rest of the preamp

Agreed on JJs all 'round. Buddy of mine has the 410 and he swears by EH EL34s though.

The JJ E34L are nice tubes. If you have the money, SED el34 are great in a Marshall but they are $200 a quad

For Power tubes I highly recommend EH C6A7, they are a bit of cross between EL34 and 6L6...I have them in my JVM410H and they are great.

TungSol EL34B are really good if you wanna stay EL34
