hello,

I need your help.
I'm trying to install footswitch on roland cube 15xl.
Is that possible?
I think it is possible, because the amplifier has a switch between two channels, so why it wouldn't be possible for footswitch?
on the pictures you see how it looks like inside.

if that is a momentary switch, I imagine you could use a momentary spst footswitch to make a pedal. connect your switch in parallel to the amp switch and your all set.

or you could step on the amp itself, its small enough

like I said, Ive no clue what type of switch it is, but in the case that it is a momentary switch:

It's a dpdt latching switch. You could wire another identical, remote, switch in parallel to the one in the amp, but it would require some kind of odd cable and connectior with 6 connections, unless you didn't mind having the pedal permanently tethered to the amp.

A much better way, but not quite as easy, is to use a jfet switching circuit to switch channels. This would let you use a standard 1/4" jack and guitar cable (and a cheaper latching stomp switch), but you'd have to do a re-design of the channel switching. Judging by this thread, this is probably outside your skill set.

The reason they didn't include a footswitch in the first place is most likely cost, and the fact that a little 15w practice amp doesn't really need one since the vast majority of them will never leave the person's bedroom.
