i work part time at 30 hours a week, and play guitar anywhere from 1-4 hours a day

going to work more, 40 to possibiliy 60 hours a week, i work at an office so it's not really a physically demanding job, just will take up a lot of my time, on top of that im not going to reduce my guitar playing time and still gig on the weekends.

This means im going to have little free time as far as surfing the web, watching tv, movies etc.. just eat sleep play guitar, workout, and go to work.

does anyone work full time and use most of their free time on playing guitar and playing gigs?

better yet, people who work full time, go to school full time and still play guitar.

Work at least 48 hours a week, taking 10 credits of college classes, and am the guitarist and main songwriter for my band. Yeah, I play quite a bit. Not as often as I like, but that's being an adult, I guess.

use to. work overtime now, and having sex, exercising, spending time with the family and friends has taken priority over it, although I do research music production on my free time, like on breaks. honestly don't miss it much, but it has disconnected me from a lot of my music related friends.

I also don't have sex, so that helps me play more.

Yep. I do 30-40/wk at work and 16 college credits. My girlfriend's also a musician, so we play guitar/other instruments together when we see each other, which is cool and convenient. On the other hand, she is the only person I regularly see that isn't my family, but I never liked socialising that much, anyway. I have some spare time for homework, television/film/videogames, and playing music.

I'm a final year under grad doing a business management degree (not the hardest of courses but still pretty hour intensive) as well as being part of 3 bands (one of which is 2 hours from my uni) and my solo acoustic stuff.

Managing my time has become more difficult this year, and I don't have enough time to dedicate specific practice to as much as a did a few years ago (especially when i was at music college). But I am still playing alot.

I work full time as a small business owner. I spend about 5hrs a week wood shedding new songs or intricate parts, rehearse with the band 3hrs-1/wk and gig 2-3 times/mo. Also occasional acoustic gigs as a duo or trio. This is a manageable schedule that leaves time for family, sports and yacking on the net.

If you are going to be spending more time at the office, have a guitar there you can pick up at lunch, on breaks, whenever you need a few minutes. I use an inexpensive Squier, POD and headphones and always manage to find a few hours a week.

When I was working full time and lived with my GF I hardly got to play at all. Pretty much stopped for my 20s. Now I don't work much or have a GF and it's a way better life, I can play 3-4 hrs every day and do anything else I want as well

On the come up we were listening to Grateful Dead and the music started passing through my bowel and out my arsehole as this violet stream of light. I shat music. It was beautiful.
