Ok I’ve been playing on an acoustic for a few years and now I own a Schecter Damien Solo Elite a 20w Orange amp and I am now looking at trying out different FX.

I am thinking about getting 2 separate set ups as learning tools... Based on my limited research on the internet.

Set up 1:
Boss ME 50

Set up 2:

Electro Harmonix Cathedral Stereo Reverb Pedal

Now these set ups are to help me explore what I can do with FX also get a punk rock sound.

Quick question a reverb pedal is the same as a chorus pedal correct also the same as a small clone correct? So the Cathedral Pedal should substitute a small clone or chorus pedal?

Second question is these set ups good simple educational setups for both ongoing performance guitar as well as learning to use FX?

Do I get any thumbs up from guitar FX pros?

I’m going for a versatile sound from hard metal to Queens of the Stone Age Melodic, but mostly punk rock rhythm guitar like in the songs
"A need some Ambition" by Guttermouth
Or “Beyond Electric Dreams" By Bad Religion

No.

Those are some great pedals but you should get the multi fx.

What brand/model? So should I also get a chorus and or small clone? Would the Multi FX substitute any of the pedals I am thinking about getting or an add on?

I really dont want a complicated big Line 6 Multi FX pedal like the HD500 So please recommend something more user/begineer friendly. Also I would really like to stay in analog as possible less digital more pedal...
Thanks for the feedback

The Small Clone is a chorus pedal, the Cathedral is reverb. Any decent multifx will have a stack of options for both and pretty much anything else you could want to experiment with your sound.

The Digitech RP355 for example has 6 different reverb effects, 4 choruses and 18 different distortions. It's a tuner, an equaliser, noise gate, an expression pedal and heaps more. These RP units are quite intuitive for beginners and even the next model up will probably cost less than half the total price of just the three pedals you listed.

firstly what model orange 20 have you got?? Does it have all the gain you need??....if you are happy using the amps gain then look at something like a line 6 M9 ( http://line6.com/m9/ )

If you want OD as well then the boss or the digi are both fine
