I have been trying to figure out the Intro to the Wilco song ELT off the album Summerteeth. For the life of me I can't figure out what's going on. I think he uses a b-bender on the song, but I don't think that's going on in the intro. If anyone can figure out the first five or six notes it would make my year.

I think it does use a B-Bender, like this:

e|----7----------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|--------7-----------9br7--------------------------------------------------|
G|------------6pb8-----------8br6---4---------------------------------------|
D|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
(pb = prebend, br = bend release)

So you start with the 6th fret on the G-string already bent up a tone, which is a popular thing to do in country anyway. Play the first 3 notes all ringing into each other. Then use the B-bender to get a G# to F# bend on the B string. Ends with the pre-bent note on the G string being released then finishes on the root (B).
