an informational article: http://www.insomniac.com/news/how-talk-your-kids-about-breakcore

notes on breakcore (overall history with prevalent artists, must watch):

also, roots related:

(this means feel free to post jungle as well)

----------------

i don't know what to say about the style as i don't know most of its history. contains some of the most intense electronic music i've heard though. typically fast paced, insane drum sampling and programming. venetian snares, µ-ziq, and aphex twin are some of the more widely known staples in the genre.

essentially, i guess breakcore is the clusterfuck genre where everything that can't be categorized tends to go. some people debate about whether breakcore is actually a genre or a set of ideals used to make experimental music.

either way, shit's dope. discuss and post mad breaks.

this is cool as well, pretty low-key sounding. at least compared to most of the stuff i listen to in the genre

it was for me too until i got into huge chrome cylinder box unfolding. that being said, that album's made me tear up more than a few times.

also, has anyone listened to any of his newest stuff? my so-called life was pretty bland and i haven't really checked him out since then (he's probably released like 1029348743 songs by now lol)

that is an awesome video, still in the process of watching the rest of it.

put it up on the first post. i might have to make a collection of all these artists too. have so much new stuff to listen to now

edit: the variance in opinions on where the style is going is cool, i like the idea of the genre not actually being a defined style but more of a set of ideals.
