I remember a two hand Steely Dan chord I picked up from a guitar world magazine awhile ago.

E--0
B--4
G--7
D--11
A--15
E--X

the 11th and 15th fret are the notes the picking hand hold and you strum with your pinky.

Considering all the notes are next to each other yeah that's expected.

And this thread could easily fit into musician talk m8.

That's one function of Musicians Talk, yeah, but there actually already is a thread for favourite chords.

I'd say a Dm9 or most minor 9th chords are my favourites. Dominant 7 #9th chords are dope, too. Pretty much any chord with a bit of dissonant notes or extensions but not too many.

The chord I use most is simply

079900

but Gmaj13 322232 is nice, as is this tone cluster: 990860

And now you can play metal too.

Naw, this is how you play metal
E-X
B-X
G-X
D-0
A-0
D-0

Just play that a bunch and you are officially playing about 95% of all metal songs.

It might be how you play metal, and if you do, you're doing it wrong.

The method I describe is in fact taken from Phil Campbell of Motorhead, on a random TV show I saw years ago.
