I just finished restringing my high E string for the first time and there does not appear to be as much excess string wrapped around the post as other strings such as B and G. The string is tuned to standard but I am wondering if I will encounter problems when tuning to alternate tunings. Did I not string it properly or is it not a problem?
how many wraps around the post? as long as you have at least minimum two full plus what is left i would imagine you would be fine, more than five i would consider excessive.

i wouldn't worry about it too much.
