I've been
Gone
Wished you here
Felt jokes run plain while faces glance with blame
To a single running gag
Jets on, empty
Fuelled by sad, inadmissible passes at being caring
Sharing drinks in screaming light
Howling "guilty" to the court as the defendant finds, dependant on smiles,
While your interstellar eyes could be his fractured stars
That collapsing self-regard won't cease the falling in your feeble clutch
The rushing into friendship
Ending slower nights with a bit too much
It didn't take long to realise
The safest place was not her arms, but her eyes
Where she can't see you
For her gaze, it blisters;
Grey skin to cinders
