Hi,
What Gauge strings on an 8 string, 27" scale guitar would give me a nice tight, thick feel whilst maintaining the ability to bend? I hate sloppy strings, even on a 6 string. I always go for a slightly thicker set.
I'm looking at GHS boomers 10-80 set but I think that would be so heavy that it would warp the neck? It'll be an Ibanez neck so I don't want it to warp to quickly...

Cheers

I have 10s on mine and they're floppy. Get 11s and make those bottom strings HEAVY. I'm using a 28" scale, for reference.

Thanks, I will probably go heavy. I'm just worried if the neck will warp over time?

If you set up the guitar properly, this is never an issue.

27" scale? Yeah get the 10-80 AT LEAST. If you set it up right (which you can do yourself, look up the 7 string legion thread here and my guide should be in the most recent 5 pages) warping of the neck shouldn't be a concern.
