Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could use guitar notes as a vocal warm up? I have seen similar things done with a piano but would this work with guitar?

Yes, just play scales and sing along. It would be easier to just search for vocal warmups on youtube tho.

Thanks.

I am hoping this will help me learn the different position and sounds of notes as well as using it as a warm up for my voice.

play a major arpeggio, sing along with syllables may, mi, ma, mo, moo. (1,3,5,3,1)
Then move up a fret. Repeat until you reach the top of your range.
Another one is play the two notes of a power chords, gliss from the bottom one to the top the go up a fret.

Whatever ones are used in the music you sing.
There's no such thing; there never was. Where I am going you cannot follow me now.
