Hi all

I'm just trying to get to grips with my GT-100 using the 4CM and I've come unstuck.

I have all the cables in the correct connections or I think I have.

Guitar > Input of GT-100
GT-100 Send > Input of DSL40c
GT-100 Return > Effects loop send of DSL40c
GT-100 Left Mono > Effects loop return of DSL40c

The effects loop is switched on on the amp and when I turn up the output on the GT-100 everything on the GT-100 appears to be working ok.

The problem I have is that I now seem to have no control whatsoever over any settings on my amp. Nothing happens when I turn the volume, gain or any other knobs on my amp. I can only control volume by either using the output volume on the GT-100 or by using the volume knob on my guitar.

I'm hoping by using the 4 cable method that I can use my amp's natural sound in conjunction with individual stomps on the GT-100 in manual mode or to create patches that I can use with the natural sound of my amp.

If someone can point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it.

Are you sure you have all of the cables plugged in correctly? It sounds like you may be bypassing the pre-amp section of your amp. This is the diagram I followed to set up the GT-100 with my amp, when I was playing with it a while back.

sounds like you have an issue with the FX loop of the amp if your doing it right.

This video will show you how to do it if your doing something wrong

Hi all

Thanks for the help so far.

I appear to have it all cabled up ok.

I just tested the effects loop by disconnecting the GT-100 altogether and just put a Boss SD-1 in the loop on its own. It appears to work fine.

Could there be a setting on the GT-100 that I need to change that I might of missed?

Thanks Red.Guitar. I tried that and had no luck I'm afraid.

I'm not sure what else to try?

where did you buy the GT100? take it back since your DS-1 worked fine in the loop your FX loop is fine.

Panic over.

Just me being a f**kwit!

For some reason by default the S/R block wasn't switched on on the GT-100 and I didn't notice. All appears ok now.

Thanks Robbgnarly and red.guitar for all your help and sorry for wasting your time!

No worries man. Glad you got it sorted it. It takes a while of playing with something like GT-100, to really learn all of the ins and outs.

As I was reading this I thought, "have you turned the S/R on?"
Good to see you found it.

That was what I was going to suggest. I run an RP1000 the same way with my amp and if you don't have the patch set up to use the send/return (your actual amp's preamp) it will use a simulated preamp or no preamp regardless of whether or not the cables are hooked up.
