Looking to buy another guitar. I am fairly familiar with Reverend guitars so this is pretty specific. How "hot" is the Revtron pickup? I loved the Reverend P90s. Do these have somewhat similar tonal range? I am have been GASing for a tele style guitar and I am a reverend fan so this seemed natural. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

7k Ohms. Hotter than your average Broadcaster style, but more tame than your American MIA Tele.

I have 4 Revs, 2 of which have P90s and my FlatRoc has RevTrons. The RevTrons remind me a bit of the P90s, but without the hum, of course. And not quite as hot, I think. They sound a bit more like the FillerTrons you find in Gretsch guitars, though.

There's a nice treble bite, and judicious use of the bass contour and tone controls can get you some serious twang. As soon as I plugged the FlatRoc in, I was almost compelled to play surf & rockabilly/psychobilly riffs.

Thanks guys. That's kind of what I figured. I "need?" something a little different and the flatroc just might be it. I have been after a tele for a while.

There's a few RevTron equipped axes in the current production line.

The Buckshot is the only one that gives you the Tele bridge. FWIW, all of the others- Flatroc, Warhawk RT, Club King & Tricky Gomez semis, and the PA-1 RT hollowbody- are all double RevTron configs.

This may be why the Buckshot is so easy to find at bargain prices. I saw a bunch of them this month under $700, but they've been bought up. Right now, $750 is the going rate.
