So guys, here I am wanting to buy a combo amp for the first time in ever, just because I'm wanting something a bit different and I discovered the Orange TH30 combo and it sounds exactly like what I want. But doesn't the Dark Terror use the same preamp as the TH30?

Also, I've noticed it has a few outputs for extension cabs... Does it work in the same way as a head and cab, if I stack an 8ohm output in the amp will stack with the speaker in the combo already or will it bypass that speaker in the amp making it a large paperweight?

You can unplug the combo's cab or leave it connected and just match both cabs with the proper impedance.

And that means? So that's a sixteen Ohm?

I wouldn't just be able to plug in an 8 ohm cab and go then?

Yup, 16. Can probably rewire your 8 Ohm cab to 16.

Cool so I'm safe to plug my 8ohm 1x12 in also?

Just wanted to check before I did anything silly.

Only if you unplug the internal speaker. The outputs only support one 16, one 8, or two 16 (A 16 Ohm cab or speaker into each 8 Ohm out).

Might just go for the combo and run it with an AB box...

I've tried the combo and the TH30 head + PPC 212 OB cab. The head + cab sounds more convincing to me. I was surprised what bunch of noise you could drag out of a 30W head. I am a doom/stoner rock and classic rock kind of player and this does the job for me to be honest!

I highly doubt the DT has the same pre-amp as the TH30 does, to answer that part of your post.
