I think you should get a good amp and build your pedals around that instead

I whole heartedly agree with this. If you have a crap amp, you have a crap sound. No matter what pedal you put in front of it.

I would definitely go the used route for amps, I got a blue angel MESA head and a 4x10 cab for $600. As well has a JCM2000 head for $350. I don't have any combo amps so I can't really comment on that. I like being able to mix and match heads and cabs when applicable. You can find cabs cheap enough though.

You might want to check out Jet City amps or Blackstar if you want something new. They're both solid companies and make a great amps. I have a black star 20h that I love. It gets some hate because it's technically a hybrid amp, but it sounds great and I can get a ton of different tones out of it and it takes pedals very well.

You can look at used Krank Jr series amps for $300-$350 and a 1x12 cab for $100 and you would have a solid sounding rig

Unless it is the Randall RM I would not get a Randall for RJSA tones. Randalls give you the sound very similar to Pantera's guitar tone. And that is about the only tone they can do well.
Something Marshall-ish would be my first choice

It's actually an RX 120 RH, and as a solid state, my old bands rythem guitarist has it, and after playing around with it, it takes some work, but it can get rather versatile tones out of it, Do you have any other suggestions for under $500 cause as much as I want a $1200 marshall tube, It's not going to be in my budget any time soon cause My situation allowed me to bank some quick money with a couple months without bills and full time work, but I have college coming up, and bills to pay, so I wont be able to save much more since all my money is going to be going towards those, and I need one that's gonna push enough air to fill House of Blues, hence why I'm looking into a half stack for now just to get by, then ill upgrade the head and cab as I can in later years.
I see like this, It's better to tell yourself you're not good enough, so you always try to get better and better, rather than to say you are good enough, and not improve. You're never good enough, and in that way, you'll be the best.

Yeah I'll find you a good amp for <$500 might not be a 1/2 stack, but it will be a good amp.

Here is a 2x12 Peavey JSX it is $550 so a bit over budget, but it is a beast of an amp

Peavey 6505+ 1x12 combo $399

Peavey 5150 2x12 combo $499

and that is just a quick look

If you ever play house of blues, they have an awesome PA so a 5watt practice amp will sound loud as fukk.
