So, another year has soon passed and another year of album releases likewise.

What's your take of the year musicwise.

What albums did you look forward to and which albums did you enjoy the most?

Here are the albums I heard from 2014

Aphex Twin - Syro
Angelo Badalamenti - Stalingrad
Black Knights - Medieval Chamber
ceo - Wonderland
Cloud Nothings - Here and Nowhere Else
D'Angelo and The Vanguard - Black Messiah
Mac DeMarco - Salad Days
Dot Hacker - How's Your Process?
Dot Hacker - How’s Your Process? (Play)
First Aid Kit - Stay Gold
John Frusciante - Enclosure
Kleerup - As If We Never Won
Musk Ox - Woodfall
The New Pornographers - Brill Bruisers
Pink Floyd - The Endless River
Pixies - EP2
Pixies - Indie Cindy
The Soundcarriers - Entropicalia
Spoon - They Want My Soul
Sun Kil Moon - Benji
Sharon Van Etten - Are We There
Warpaint - Warpaint
Wussy - Attica!
Thom Yorke - Tomorrow's Modern Boxes

I'd say that Mac DeMarco's Salad Days is the best album for this year imo. Closely followed by Sharon Van Etten's Are We There and Dot Hacker's How Your Process?

What are yours?

Happy new year

Which album of the year thread was your favorite this year, pit?
For me, it had to have been that fifth album of the year thread.

I can only think of a few albums I've listened to from this year.

The Gaslight Anthem - Get Hurt (Loved it, but its not my favourite TGA album)
Freddie Gibbs & Madlib - Piñata (Only listened to it once through so far but its great)

Then American Authors and Chris Webby's albums, which were pretty good I thought.
The plan was to drink until the pain over.
But what's worse, the pain or the hangover?
Who am I? I'm a titan so be expectin' a clash.

My condolences to everyone I torment. :/

Just about. But if it makes you feel better, there was some discussion about how it should be waited until the actual end of the year to make an aoty thread, so there you go.

Only 2 albums from this year I've bought have been Alestorm's Sunset on the Golden Age and Weird Al's Mandatory Fun.

Haven't acquired any at no cost, so that's 2 albums from this year.

I just listened to two songs by FKA Twigs and I have zero idea what all the hype is about. Is this like when the pitchfork hipster crowd was all about Gwen Stefani just to seem eclectic?

She got BNM so P4K readers have to pretend that they like her, they did the same thing with Savages, Chvrches, Cults, etc.

I don't think I've listened to a single album all the way through this entire year.

I don't have the energy to listen to music anymore. It isn't that great anyway tbh.

yes. But FKA Twigs is objectively better than Stefani.

I never got around to listening to all of Low Roar's 0 and I regret that...

Twigs

I never understood why people like Stefani so much, outside of some No Doubt stuff she's pretty unbearable imo
