Synthpop relates to Alt/Indie best I guess.

Am I the only one who things Adam Young is a boss? At least All Things Bright and Beautiful and pre. I'm not too fond of his newer stuff, but it is likable. ITT discuss Owl City/Adam Young.

I mean, just listen to this euphoria, blissfully floating upon clouds of charisma, laden in whimsical atmosphere: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGSB98RskJM

He takes the cliches of pop progressions and adds to them with outside chords, additional modifiers, etc. Lyrics are deep of meaning, atmosphere, and whimsy, which have permanently incited my mind to muse and ponder. Melody lines and instrumentals are beyond cliches- it always sounds fresh, new, appealing, complementing the atmosphere of the song perfectly. Every time I listen to Ocean Eyes, it sounds new. I never get tired of listening to any one song.
