I needed a pair of quarter inch cables for a band practice, and I found a pair of cables, attached to one another with some light adhesive, in the back of his Crate amp I used to use.
Now he's super pissed at me for seperating them and I have to buy him a new pair. I have no idea what to even search for though. There's also something special about these cables, apparently. He used them with his footswitch, and they have like an extra notch in the ends of the cable.
If you guys could help me find such a cable it would help me out a lot.

If its for footswitch, its probably a stereo cable.

How about some pics of said cables?
And maybe some of where they were plugged into? (At both ends).

And next time, don't take someone else's stuff without asking.

Point taken, but I was told I could use the amp and it's many contents; the problem is he didn't want the cables seperated.

That one end I see is a TRS (Tip, Ring, Sleeve) cable.
It has 3 conductors.
Usually refereed to as a stereo cable.

I only see one cable there.
Are there 2 cables and they both look like that?

You have 2 jacks on the back of the foot switch.
So I take it that one end of that cable has 2 ends on it and the other end is the one you showed me and that single plug with the 3 conductors plugs into the amp?

Show me BOTH ends of the cable(s) or pick a look-alike from here:
https://www.google.com/search?q=mono+to+stereo+cable&espv=2&biw=1366&bih=643&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=S6KpVMeUC8ytyASO5oCgAw&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAg

Or is it 2 seperate cables with both of them having the same ends, on both ends, as in your picture.

And why not just glue those back together?

Either way, you can get a replacement at most guitar or electronics stores.

They're both identical, with the stereo ends on each side, and after a quick search I can find quite a few, but none with two connected cables.
I offered to reattatch them, but that's not how my dad wants it.

This was the best I could dig up:
http://www.amazon.com/Hosa-HSS-010X2-Dual-Cable-4-Inch/dp/B00FC4Z842

Heres the manufacturers web site that has the different lengths:
http://hosatech.com/product/hss-000x2/
You can search Google or Amazon using the cable model number to find other sources.

And him gluing 2 cables together was fine and dandy, but you doing the same thing isn't?
