Sup!

Im just starting to think about getting my first 7 string and basically i just want to know what sort of 7's to look at? My budget is about £700 but i could possibly put a bit more on that. I mostly play all kinds of metal but i do like a good clean tone as well, so really im looking for something that can handle most genre's.

Things i would like it to have:
Ebony fretboard
H/H configuration
locking tuners
hipshot style bridge

Thanks for any help!

Look for a used Shcecter KM-7. It's being regarded as basically the best 7 on the market for under 1000 pounds/$1000. Hits all your wants. Ebony board (with luminlay I might add), Pegasus/Nazgul pickups, locking tuners and a hipshot bridge. Here's one for 800 USD (~530 GBP), you'd just have to pay extra to ship it to you: http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/guitars-sale-trade-wanted/286770-fs-t-schecter-km-7-a.html

The Schecter C-7 Hellraiser would be in your budget new, that one has EMG 707s though, so you may struggle a bit with a clean tone. And no locking tuners.

The Ibanez RGIT27FE-SBF also hits the nail on the head for most of your specs, but it has the Gibraltar II bridge, which is a very comfy bridge in its own right.
Gibson RD Silverburst w/ Lace Dissonant Aggressors (SOLD)
Electra Omega Prime Ceruse
Fender Franken-Jag Bass

Amps and the like:
Laney VH100R
Seismic Luke 2x12
Dunlop 105Q Wah
Gojira FX 808
Line 6 M9

That only thing about that specific KM-7 in particular is the guys on sevenstring.org are wary dealing with newbies. I know because I've been over there for about 2 years now and read the nightmare stories of people sending money to get nothing ect ect... They don't even let you post a for sale/wanted ad unless you have 100 posts. Worth giving it a shot though.

If you're on facebook I'd also investigate the Guitar Porn gear exchange. Great place to deal gear because everyone has a name and a direct link to their profile, so it's all very transparent. Ask to join and post a wanted ad saying your specs and you budget and location, and the sellers come to you. Or just post saying you want a KM-7. Market's got a few of them. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1384606591817152/
