So, a colleague of mine is coming over to my place for the weekend and she wants to hear me play guitar. No worries of course, but I need suggestions of fun, easy and impressive songs to play for her. Looking for rock & roll kinda songs. Should be pretty easy to learn. Having ADD, I have the concentration span of a brick, so can't practice for hours

She is coming over in a month, so that's the time I have. Any suggestions?

Acoustic or electric, vocals or no vocals?

If you could play piano I could tell you a million.

I don't know, that's why I said rock & roll. Who doesn't like rock & roll?

No vocals, I want to impress, not scare the crap out of here. I have electric guitar, acoustic guitar, a bass guitar, harmonics but unfortunately no piano. I can play piano, but air piano is a bit on the silly side.

Get her to sit on your bass amp and play a Bb or whatever note makes her do a Meg Ryan

Hmm. try swing low sweet chariot, I can't find it at the moment, but there's a really good tab somewhere I think.

OR, bear with me on this, get a looping pedal and record a simple acoustic rhythm in front of her and then switch to electric and amaze her with your knowledge of the pentatonic scale

SGT. HARTMAN: Where in hell are you from anyway, Private?
COWBOY: Sir, Texas, sir!
SGT. HARTMAN: Holy dogshit! Texas! Only steers and queers come from Texas, Private Cowboy! And you don't look much like a steer to me, so that kinda narrows it down!! Do you suck dicks!?
COWBOY: Sir, no, sir!
SGT. HARTMAN: Are you a peter-puffer!?
COWBOY: Sir, no, sir!
SGT. HARTMAN: I'll bet you're the kind of guy that would fuck a person in the ass and not even have the goddamn common courtesy to give him a reach-around! I'll be watching you!!

If that's the case then you should want no part in this 15 year old girls? That's ****ing sick.

Vincent by don mclean, it's not like she's gonna care for a song about romantic stuff anyway.
Or yeah, some santana might work.

You though have to sing if you really wanna get laid.

Clue: amplifiers amplify so don't turn it on if you need quiet.

Nice.

From my experience, girls really like hearing songs they haven't heard before and that have little melody and as much fast guitar playing as possible.
