I am about to record my melodic/symphonic death metal band's first album, so I am in a dilemma, to record my guitars in 4 tracks or 2 tracks, and how to pan them..

P.S. I am recording with a Line 6 Pod HD Pro X
Try everything and then decide what suits your situation best.

I myself would do 2 and pan everything max L and max R.

Clue: amplifiers amplify so don't turn it on if you need quiet.

I guess spambots are now capable of reading minds.
Do you have time for four? Then record four. You can always take two away later. As long as time is not a factor, it is better to have more and not need it, than need more and not have it.
Telecaster - SG - Jaguar
Princeton Reverb, Extra Reverb
P-Bass - Mustang Bass
