Im left handed and play a right handed guitar upside down restrung, and I was wondering how I could use a strap. Someone suggested to drill a hole and install another strap button on the other side, but I just want to make sure before I do it.
Your only other option is to do what acoustic players often do -- run a string to the headstock and make that your other strap connection.

If you're a beginner, you should probably learn to play right handed while you have the chance.
You already have the guitar to do so and it's really no big deal (Neal Schon and others are left handed, playing right, and almost every other instrument out there gives you no choice, so why make your life tougher?).

You're going to have very little resale value if you drill a strap hole in the bottom of a right handed guitar, so you'd better get very cozy with that guitar.
Please don't make multiple threads on the same topic. You're getting plenty of help in your other one.
