When using pedals in the fx loop do I want the switch at the back in or out? I know it change the loop level but the amp nor the manual say which setting is +4db and which is -10db

I can't really tell the difference! I just don't wanna damage my pedals/amp

It's a Ekko 616 an TC Hall of Fame in the loop so am I right in thinking I need it set to -10db?

It will not hurt your pedals at all, the switch is so it can use line level signals (like rack FX) or regular pedals that are non-line level. pick which you like best and you'll be fine
