Forget the pedals thread I posted not too long.

At the time I talk about metal pedals, two of UG users tell me I need to get good amp so I'm kind of now agree with them. I seriously need to get big amp to play music.

Anyway (again), I have an Dean Mustaine VNMXT electric guitar with GHS Progressive 10-52 signature strings (for hard rock, heavy metal, metal and death metal), an Epiphone Les Paul Custom Pro electric guitar with Ernie Ball Cobalt Super Slinky strings (for hard rock, classic rock, alternative rock, dance/electron/techno and a bit of pop), DeRosa Acoustic-Electric guitar, Korg Pitchblack Chromatic Pedal Tuner and Peavey 26W Compo Amp.

For now I'm making a poll of amps I'm planning to own so I can save up my money to own good amps for cheap deal. However, if you vote "Other", please post your comment for what amps.

Thanks for your time!

Budget? - What is practical for you and what is your limit?

Genres? - What style do you play mostly, fav guitarists, do you need cleans, etc?

New or Used? - Lots of great amps out there used, especially in a down economy.

Home or Gig? - Also important. Maybe you do both. Jamming with a drummer can be considered 'gigging' but you won't have a PA etc.

Closest City? - We aren't here to stalk you but we need to know where you are in the world roughly and we can help further if we know what city you are in (ie craigslist, local shops, Guitar Center used section, etc)

Randall means nothing, they make lots of amps. An RM would be good but at that price I'm guessing that's not what you mean.

Budget? - What is practical for you and what is your limit? From $300 to $800 for good amps for cheap, so I don't want to say how much I have in my bank so still alot.

Genres? - What style do you play mostly, fav guitarists, do you need cleans, etc? Read the thread about my two electric guitars again.

New or Used? - Lots of great amps out there used, especially in a down economy. New, especially.

Home or Gig? - Also important. Maybe you do both. Jamming with a drummer can be considered 'gigging' but you won't have a PA etc. Both.

Closest City? - We aren't here to stalk you but we need to know where you are in the world roughly and we can help further if we know what city you are in (ie craigslist, local shops, Guitar Center used section, etc) I have Guitar Center in my town, so that's all good.

just depends on your opinion

Eeeeesh no! Please don't make me choose one of these.

Just keep looking, and pay a lot of attention to what the very experienced players around here are using. They have already been through the landfill quality cheapie amps and have discovered a few jewels.

I'd say the tones he wants are a bit diverse for a 6505+. A XXX, JSX, XXXII would be great choices though (Maybe an Ultra+ as well, but I've never tried them). In the used market (Guitar Center has a great used market and a great return policy) You could have any of those in your budget.

The RX is the lowest Randall gear, but it still shits on the MG. On the scale of Randall's solid state stuff, the Century's are best followed by the RG's(Old and new). The the RH and the RX. I don't think they made more solid state stuff.

ok i see this is going to be one of "those" threads.

OP dude do youreally need a half stack or just assumed that when it was said to get a good amp that was what was meant. you really don't need one is my guess.

sounds to me like a 6505+ combo would do the trick and you'd be good to go.

by the way we don't care how much you have in the bank, just need to know what yu want to spend. we aren't lurking around the corner waiting to mug you

If it RX then IMO don't buy that. LOok around for a used RG and have AVatar make you a cab(2x12,4x12, your choice). If you do this you'll have a very nice setup.

Are you 100% sure that you need a stack? You could buy an used JSX or XXX combo for 500 bucks if not less. You could also find some Marshall JCM combos that easily fit your budget.
