It was awful.

Have you ever tried making your own original cocktail?
How did it turn out?

A friend and I once experimented with putting tabasco in cocktails. I can't remember what the other ingrediences were, but it tastes really good. You have to be very careful though how much you put in.

In high school me and a buddy made "Dr. Morganzona's". It's pretty good.

Captain Morgan Spiced Rum
Dr. Pepper
Arizona's iced tea

Don't really know the measurements, but I know it had a lot of rum in it. It was pretty good. It's like 1/3 rum, 1/2 Dr. Pepper, and a splash of Arizonas.

A couple weeks ago I mixed every type of liquor we have into some ginger beer.

It actually didn't taste too bad because ginger beer overpowers everything.

If I'm making something at home it's either some rum/coke/lime variation, or a white/black russian. I save real cocktails for real mixologists, and even then I only order old fashions(which most bartenders around here can't even do right).

A good one though is amaretto in coke (or your favorite sweet medium) with some lime juice.

I love that shit.

That + kings = a memorable night

And by memorable I mean I don't remember

I have before. Usually terrible ideas like Amaretto + Whiskey and lemonade and other shitty attempts.

I put vodka in a Shirley Temple once. That was legit.

I love mxing and making drinks I've never tried but I'm also a poor university student so it just ends up with Canadian Club and Ginger Ale every time.

As for made up cocktails:

In senior year highschool me and my friends made moonshine. The copper piping we used wasn't very clean and the moonshine came out blue, but it seemed safe enough to drink. Mixed it with energy drink and called it "Blue Steel", giving homage to Zoolander

i've tried to make martinis a few times before. we bought Beefeater gin because it was the most recommended one i found that was also cheap. Noilly Prat vermouth and stuffed olives. it turned out less drinkable than i had hoped, either because Beefeater is too harsh for my taste or i didn't give the ice enough time to melt in the shaker. will try again sometime!

I have one I make called the Anthony Green because I was obsessed with Circa Survive at the time

It's rum, amaretto, sweet lime, sweet & sour, sprite, and just a touch of grenadine. Super sweet and tart, it's been a favorite of my friends

Pretty sure it's less to do with the gin and more to do with Martinis taste like shit.

I usually mix a load of different types of alcoholic beverages and then some non-alcoholics. I've made so many I can hardly remember most of em. some of them were awesome, some of them not so much.
Usually it's to be a shot though, not a cocktail. I guess it's more like a shake.

well, i've never thought that a regular martini tasted "good", but to me it certainly feels nice going down. sort of like drinking tea. nobody says "wow, this cup of tea tastes amazing!"

Mixed Jack Daniels with lemon lime Gatorade, sounds gross, but if you get the mix right its actually pretty good.
#26
Martini, dry, double olive, shaken till ice cold.

Or switch the vermouth with an aperitif or the gin with vodka. Can use a slice of lemon if you don't like the olive flavors.

I make a great one. Whiskey, (bourbon, rye, or scotch) add to a glass, drink!

Also old fashioneds w/or w/o a twist, and manhattans when I feel like it.

Chocolate Milkshake +Scotch + Gin

Shake it up, drink, and remember that this is all just a bad dream.

Also I'm a bartender.

This. Current favorites are Glenlivet, Dimple, and Woodford Reserve.

I like screwdrivers okay, tho.

back in the day, my friends and i would put Everclear in the OJ, instead of vodka. or 151 in cherry pepsi. i also used to put Tarantula Azul in Squirt, and that was pretty good.

It wasn't exactly original, but on time I tried making a Blue Shark. I forgot what it was, but I was using some other kind of tequila instead of regular tequila. It came out too strong. Had to pour it. I died a little inside.

Also, last weekend this happened.

Nice, I've never made an old-fashioned, but they're pretty popular around here, especially the brandy old-fashioned rather than typical bourbon.

I had a kick this summer of making Manhattan's at home all the time. I still have an extra unopened bottle of bitters iirc.
