Was thinking about getting a 15 watt dark terror tube head what would be a good Orange cab for it?

Budget 1500-2000 close to Macon or Atlanta ga and home and maybe some very small gigs soon.

Go for it if you want. Make sure you're matching the impedance load correctly. I suggested making your own cab so that your speaker and amp output wattages match a bit better, and you can also choose your speaker. It's cheaper as well.

I'm not sure how drastic of a difference speaker and amp wattages matter on your tone and gear integrity.

i run my dual terror through a orange PPC212OB (iopen back is preference for my use of this amp). it is cheaper. i honestly wound't go for 1x12" i never go smaller than a 2x1" just a little more coverage.

i have some cabs that i have built. it can be a good option, but not for everybody.

if you don't go for orange, mesa would do good as well. or if you want something custom, you could go avatar and choose your speaker combination colors, etc. i have two orange cabs, a mesa, an avatar and several others, the mesa and orange are the best IMO. avatar is pretty nice, but not quite at mesa/orange durability.

That's a 50w head right?

the dual is the two channel 30 watt lunchbox amp. it has the tiny terror channel and the unique fat channel. the fat channel is awesome.

2x12" would be the way to go IMO. check to see what speakers are in that specific cab, IIRC one of the orange cabs used different speakers than the others (all their other cabs are V30). but get what sounds best.

Yeah, the Jim Root #4 cab uses Orange's own "Voice of the World" speakers. They sound awesome, but definitely different from the Celestions that are in most of their cabs.

i would go celestions. i don't generally see good on a self branded speakers. plus if you wanted a different speaker, V30's will sell or trade way better than an Orange branded speaker.

get a 2x12" OB. you will love it. unless you want the regular 2x12" which is bigger and more expensive.

So the open back 2x12 of oranges has 2 60 watt celestion V's in it. Will the 15 watt dark terror push them good or do u need a bigger wattage head like a 30watt??

the wattage of the speakers is a maximum. it really doesn't matter what the wattage is as long as you are under it. i suggest the orange cab with the V30. just so you know, 15 watts and the terror series have no cleans at pretty much the lowest level.

i don't know what all you want to spend but, the thunder 30 and rocker 30 are good sounding amps, the same cab would work fine.
