Hey guys, I just acquired an '89 JCM800 2204 (50 watt). It sounds and plays great, but upon opening the back I noticed something peculiar on the far left. There's a spot that has a place for tube/tube mount to go in. Are they supposed to have four preamp tubes instead of three? I did an image search and some images showed three and some showed four. What's even more odd is that there seems to be nothing for the tube/mount to connect to inside that hole, almost as if it were put there.

So, can anyone fill me in on this? If there is supposed to be a fourth tube, how much would it cost to have the necessary parts to get it in there and running? Here's a picture for reference. Thanks for the help!

Bam, that explains it. Someone did try to put one in but failed, and my buddy who I got it from had it taken out and set back to factory settings.

Thanks guys
