If I was to make a bass tab for an acoustic song that just goes along with the root notes would it get accepted?

I would assume so...only because their are songs that are strictly PIANO SONGS that have no other instruments accompanying them and someone submits a tab for it for guitar. So just because a song doesn't have a particular instrument in it doesn't mean it can not be played by that instrument....

Here is one example of many out there
ANGEL by SARAH MCLACHLAN

No other instrument other then piano but numerous tabs of the song for guitar for it

Also, I see some tabs where there is a bass guitar playing a riff or lick that definitely is played by a bass guitar but the tabber includes it in their tab and played by a regular six string guitar...

So according to what I just stated I would say yes....

The major thing is in the tabs I have just stated the person also includes the lyrics and places the chords, etc above them to give direction as to where they would be played....
