New!!! Fat Lady's fitted saddle has been reduced to 63mm, and shows discolouration (guessing from final stain/polish, as it's less than exposed), and extent of possible reduction in string height.

A 'standard' insert, substantially ground and sanded, gives a still playable, but frankly crap action. I'm working on it - I don't charge by the hour.

I use a 1980's Washburn, fettled over decades, to find a compromise, as the guide to how an acoustic should 'play'.

The Cole Clark has an unreasonably (in my opinion) wide nut spacing.

Nut and truss-rod adjustment are reasonable, if not excellent.

Why do people buy crap? The Washburn 'plays' better than a $150 Fender, plays better than the CC.
