Today is the day I lose my job.
I have already done all the work I'm supposed to do, and I'm staring at an almost dead UG forum at this time of the day.

I've already read all the news, and my usual entertainment sites.
I still have 6,5 hours to go.
Does anyone have any cool sites (preferably no sound) for me to have fun on for 6,5 hours?

Why are you losing your job?
sometimes I see us in a cymbal splash or in the sound of a car crash

You should have planned for this, and eaten a diet specifically designed for you to do an enormous toilet-clogging dump.

'Cause in the netherlands they can give you a contract for 6 months. but they can only give that to you 3 times. I've served my 3rd contract.
Law states that after the 3rd time, they either have to give me a permanent contract, or to let me go.
Given the fact that this company I'm working at is financially unstable, they couldn't afford to give me the permanent contract. in the event this company goes bankrupt, that would give them a load of crap. So they decided to stop working with me instead.

What a bunch of dickholes.

Actually, my company does that with a lot of people, only we get contracts for a year. I'm on my second one right now.

almost every company does it in this country. the problem is that they can't give me another one. They wanted to give me another one, I would've accepted another one, but the Law is a bitch in this situation.
Now I'm forced to look for another job or wait for 3 months and start the whole deal from scratch again.

Maybe you could find a more permanent job if your work ethic was better. Stop wasting your employers time and money
If you have never checked out the Wood Brothers. Do yourself a favor and look them up. Best. Band. Ever.

lol look at this guy pretending to know me. I've always worked hard for this company mate. it's not my bad work ethics that made them decide not to give me a permanent contract. it's the financial state of the company.

The go find another job at another company where you can WORK. That's pretty simple. I employ 180 people and know what I speak of

OT: go read stuff on 27bslash6 if you've never been there before.

then replicate some of the stories involving the guy at work and post the results here.

Lol, totally agree with KonaNunu. If your contract isn't getting renewed, you've only got yourself to blame.

I can't stand lazy employees who try to profit from their boss. No employer ever has ever used the legislation in a country to their advantage. And still employees try to screw us over!

I call for an uprising!

KILL THE EMPLOYEE! KILL THE EMPLOYEE! WE ARE THE 1 PERCENT!

excessive amounts of toilet paper to finish does the trick.

... oh wait, they don't have anything of value there.

you're doing it wrong.

you're supposed to wait a full month after losing a job before you even start applying.

during that time you should stay up late smoking weed and playing video games, sleep most of the day, and shower on a semi-regular basis.

oh, and make sure you spend what little money you have left over from your last paycheck.

then start applying. once you get a call back, don't answer the phone. let them leave a voicemail, which you should listen to, but don't return the call until a week later. you don't want to appear too eager.

if you do everything right, you should run out of cash right as you're starting your new job. you might have enough for cigarettes and such and possibly work clothes before your first paycheck.

You've got more sense than most people then. You planned ahead and got another job ready.
If you don't mind what is your old job and what are you going to do at your new one?

I used to be a simple network manager. Now because of my experience they want me to lead a small team of 5 network engineers, so that's a big step I guess. But I'm excited

Although technically the company ditched him at the end of his contract, so we may need clarification on that point.

They ditched him, but he wasn't ditched at all cause he got a new job. Joke's on the the Pileofdeadbodies-company.

This is how I feel at the moment they wanted me back in 3 months (which is how the law works here) but I started applying for other jobs and I got a better one out of it.
