Hi there!

God I like that beautiful and singing sound of Andy Summer of The Police!
I've been doing a lot of searching on the internet for some facts..
I've got some, but I'm wondering if any of you have some good tips or advise to get close to the tone of Andy?

Thanks so much!

Just listening I thought he would be using a lot of Fender amps, but look up a couple of live videos and he has a Marshall behind him...just goes to show you can get a clean sound from a Marshall...

So I looked up a little info...he did start with a Fender, Twin Reverb...and a few pedals. Later added or switched to the Marshall, more pedals and a Roland guitar synthesizer.

From there it was all over the place...

Hmmm...I wonder what this button does...

This site has a good gear breakdown:

You'll note he has a taste for some pricey gear- real Klon Centaurs cost more than some people's entire rig. The good news is that there are less-expensive substitutes for almost everything...

Why, yes, I am a lawyer- thanks for asking!

Log off and play yer guitar!

Strap on, tune up, rock out!
