Ibanez Artcore AK105SM Archtop guitar with factory hard case.

The AK105SM (spalted maple) was a limited edition run of Ibanez's Artcore (read: higher end) line back in 2008. This one was, I was told at the time, the last one sold in Australia. Whether or not that's true, they're certainly not available new anymore and rarely come up for sale second hand.

I'll let the pics do the talking - this is one seriously beautiful looking and well made guitar. The spalted maple top, sides and body and Bubinga neck is finished in antique brown (not a standard Ibanez colour) with unstained timber bindings.... very classy. Rosewood 22-fret fingerboard has large abalone inlays. Super 58 humbuckers with gold covers, turned Rosewood volume/tone controls, Rosewood bridge, gold tailpiece and hardware throughout.

Plays wonderfully smooth with Thomastik flatwounds. Acoustic sound is clear and strong, pickups produce a wide range of tones from deep jazz to rockabily. Unless you're used to $5K+ archtops, this one's unlikely to disappoint.

Due to having been played minimally over the past 5+ years and spending most of its life in its case, this guitar is in pretty as-new condition with no noticeable marks, scratches etc. Comes with original Ibanez case, user manual and adjustment tools.

Has been a rarely played bedroom/studio object d'art which, sadly, is the reason why it is offered sale, as it gets used the least out of my guitar collection and I need to downsize and free up cash for other things. Swore blind I'd never sell it, but alas, needs must...

Looking for $1500 - no lowballs, no swaps, no BS please. PM for higher res pics. Can be viewed/auditioned by appointment if you're in the Launceston-Deloraine area. Happy to ship interstate at buyer's cost.
