+ ginger ale + lemons (a lot, like 3 slices)
+ tonic + lime
+ tonic + cucumber
+ lemonade
+ vermouth (martini)

that's all I bother with. anything more, I prob can't taste the gin.

what gin is it though. some of those work better with certain brands.

also if you do g+t make it 1 part gin to 2 parts tonic. wastes the bottle fast but is so good.
O.K.

I'm probably the only person who enjoys it straight. Only drink I know is gin n tonic or OJ. But just drink it out the bottle and chase if you have to.

I like high end gins straight, where they have a good taste mix worth having it neat. normally though if I want a "light" neat drink (basically not whisky or rum) I get a vodka instead.
O.K.

this thing. havent ever really tried gin so i cant say if its good or not

www.cinchreview.com/fleischmanns-gin-review/8795/

never heard of it cause it's US I guess, but google gave me that review. basically like Gordon's. which is okay and bog standard gin. can do most anything with it really. it will mostly be down to the quality of the mixer (especially the tonic, never cheap out there)

as for whether you'll like it, hard to say, some people really hate the typical gin flavour, while some love it, I can never predict how someone will go when I give them something to try.

i mean if you hate it you can just drown it in lemonade and get it in you.
O.K.

Gin and tonic is the go-to. I wonder if fruit punch and Sprite might be good.

I personally drink gin and club soda with lime, but it's an acquired taste. Took getting used to for me anyway. But if you wanna get drunk without getting fat, it's a miracle.

sprite is pretty solid. I discovered it and ginger ale + gin (depends on the ginger ale brand tbh) when I was going to standard club bars that have shitty standard drinks selections so tried to make up for overpaying for meh gin with a interesting mixer.
O.K.

Yeh, Orson pretty much owned this already.

Gin and tonics (w/a lime of course) are super good. I only recently discovered this goodness.

Do that.

Tbh, I've never even had gin. Had vodka, rum, beer, wine, brandy, cognac, whiskey, scotch, and grain alcohol, but never gin. What does it even taste like?
#13
Pine trees.

Also, Orson, you did mess up at one point not specifying what kind of vermouth. I don't drink martinis, so I only have sweet vermouth for my Manhattans.

Gin & lager.

Gin & lemonade's nice. People will moan at you 'cause it's not classy though.

Gin and tonic with lime, and plenty of crushed ice.

All other answers are incorrect.

Make a gin tonic.

With lemon, not lime, lime is for other stuff.

And sugar if the tonic water you're using isn't sweetened.

I've always found lemon makes it quite acidic and bitter, whereas limes are a bit sweeter so it balances it out more

Maybe I'm just using terrible gin.

Top gin yep get the glass chilled first - I use ice and water for a few minutes, then use the ice in a shaker to chill the gin before pouring into the glass. Usually I'll talk a bit about vermouth to the gin, maybe even show it a bottle if I have one (vermouth I fell is best used when baking fish).

My favorite gin mixer is squirt or any other grapefruit soda.

Just remember martinis are like boobs - one is not enough while three or more are too many.

A goddamn martini.

That's all you need.

Dry martini w/ Hendricks.

Pine trees.

Nope, Juniper, not Pine. It tastes exactly like Juniper berries smell when crushed.

Which is pretty much some variant of outdoorsy cat piss.

Gin is a vile drink, especially when you drink far too much and end up with a truly debilitating hangover.

Or so I've been told.

One time I served electric lemonade with sugar-rimmed glasses. Optional garnish: halved strawberries soaking in gin on a plate.

That was pretty popular.

Don't use that cheap knockoff of the proper Low Country original jenever. It's a cheap knockoff.

Really, the original tastes much better imo
#34
Around a 1/3rd pint of Gin topped up with fresh orange juice (e.g Tropicana) can't go wrong. One of my favourites.

Lemon is wrong. Lime is the correct one.

THIS!

Too many basics everywhere drinking their gin with lime.

Obviously the other option is a Martini, which is also good.
