This is a technique I've had difficulty with and I'm trying to get better at. To see what I mean, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4V7qB2UFwnc

Skip to 1:00. The way this guy plays it is so much better than just individual plucking the chords, but I can't seem to be able to mute the strings and get off the rights sound. Does anybody have any tips? Thanks

This is also a problem that I have playing like Can't Stop, if that can provide any context as I'm not sure if I explained myself well
He's fretting the note he wants with one finger and muting the strings he doesn't want to ring out with his other fingers. There's really not much more to it than that, practice by muting all the strings with your left hand, then pick a note on one of the middle strings to fret fully and try strum all the strings at once. Muting 5 of them and letting the fretted one ring out.
I thought so, but the muscle memory is killing me, I get random notes ringing out and it sounds god awful
