I have a 150 watt hybrid randall head ( 1 tube in preamp) and also a peavey classic vt (solid state preamp with 2 6l6 power tubes going into two celestions with thirty watts each. Could I connect the Randall line out into the peavey fx return thus making a tube amp? Or would it be safe plugging straight from the randall into the celestions and running at low volumes? Thanks

Yes, you could.

No, because your Randalls preamp (I suppose its a RH150), despite having that one lonely tube, is mostly solid state.

At low volumes your chances of ruining anything are pretty slim, but i still would not recommend doing this.

Bottom line is: Not worth the bother, and could be a headache if something goes wrong.
