Hey guys, I'm wondering if you can help me out and offer some other options that I could take a look at before pulling the trigger on this guitar.

Here's what I'm looking for:
A really heavy hard sounding guitar that plays fast and smooth.
EMG's, an LP body style, ebony fretboard, and a hard tail bridge are all must haves.

I'm not looking to buy something and replace the pickups, just something as is which is how I came across the PRS Nick Catanese SE..My price range is around $600 - 700 mark.
I'm in the States and have access to a lot of different guitar shops in my area so trying any of the more popular brands over here is pretty accessible for me. I just don't know what else to look for. The only comparisons that I've found were some variations of Schecters which are nice for sure, but the PRS feels better to play.

Are there any other options that fit this criteria that you can think of?
Appreciate any suggestions, you guys have never let me down!

Look for a used PRS S2 singlecut. You don't need EMG's at all

PRS uses Rosewood fret-boards on almost all their guitars

Or buy a used SE singlecutr and throw what ever pickups you want in it. They run $300 used

Kramer makes a great LP style guitar (Assault 220 Plus EMG) with everything you're looking for, for $629 USD new. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/KAP22BKBH

Ahh, thanks for that suggestion, looks exactly like what I'm looking for. I've never played a Kramer before..How do they stack up to something like a Schecter or Korean PRS?

Take a look at the pictures of that Kramer (on the linked site)
Look at the back of the guitar and look at the string ferrules on the back. see how one is way out of wack?
That alone would keep me from buying one of them
