I looking to buy an electric guitar:

-$600 budget, but can go over if it's really worth it
-Mostly play metal, some rock
-Prefer fixed bridge
-Prefer new, not used
-Currently located in Ventura County, California

I appreciate any recommendations. Thanks!

Any shapes you want? Tele, Strat, King V?
Blindly I'd go for a Jackson King V with SD JB/59 pickups.

a little vague perhaps list a few of your fav bands. what amp will you be using. lot of guitars to be had for $600 just wann narrow it down

Lots of Jacksons, BC Richs, and Deans to choose from. Fixed bridge complicates things a bit, since tremolos are becoming almost standard for metal guitars. If you don't mind going with a tremolo and then immobilizing it, then you can have any mid-range guitar.

Preferably strat since I'm most comfortable with it so far. I'll have to try a King V for myself to see how I like the shape.

Cacophany, Racer X and Loudness now theres some band names you don't hear much these days. ok with that in mind then look at Ibanez or perhaps some ESP/LTD models in your price range. i know Ibanez has a couple hardtail guitars that i played and really liked (sorry don't remeber models).

side note : i saw Loudness during one of their first US appearences and they were awesome. this was before Thunder In The East so all the songs were sung in japanese. akira takasaki kicks ass on guitar.

Here are some deeply discounted, EMG-equipped Fernandes guitars.

However, if you don't want actives, Fernandes has other options, though not necessarily on clearance. Check out others in the Dragonfly line.

(They also have hardtails with non-Strat aesthetics.)

Why, yes, I am a lawyer- thanks for asking!

Log off and play yer guitar!

Strap on, tune up, rock out!

What do you guys think about the Ibanez RG Iron Label guitars? Fair value for the price or is there something better in that price range?
