Hello, i need some suggestions for an amp. Here are my details:

-Budget: $1000
-Genres: Progressive rock (Satch, Vai), Heavy/industrial metal (Metallica, NIN)
-Equipment: Jem 7vwh guitar, POD HD500 pedal
-Prefferably a tube amp that is good for practice and small gigs. New.

Thanks.

I don't see why you don't want to get a powered speaker for your pod.
You'd be set and spend around 150-250USD.

If you're in america look for a Mesa Mark V 25.

^ I agree.

A pair of those + a mixer and you'll be set for gigs, reharsals, whatever.

Then you can use only one for when you want to go lighter and you can bring both when you go for gigs just in case you need a couple more monitors, or for places where they don't have PA systems.

If you absolutely want a real amp, I'd go for the jsx idea as well.

Clue: amplifiers amplify so don't turn it on if you need quiet.

If you have an HD500, why are you going to spend $1000 on an amp? id save some cash and just get a 4x12. I have the 400, and while the HD series DOES sound really good, nothing will sound as good as the real thing. in my opinion, keep using the 500 and get a cab, or ditch the HD500 and get an amp.

What is it you think a 4x12 is going to do for him? A Pod won't push a cab by itself...

i honestly dont think that it would be worth it to get a tube poweramp and cab. i would go with a good PA monitor or two.

if you don't want to do that, then i would agree diabolical on the marshall or mesa.
