Hey there, I seriously need help deciding between these two guitars (EVH Wolfgang HT Special vs. Ibanez Iceman IC400). I can get a great deal on either one. I will be getting an orange tiny terror next month so it will be going through that. Style of music: Post-metal/prog (ISIS, Cult Of Luna, etc.)

Any opinions welcome

If it's an MIJ EVH....

That.

The AH-1/2 pickups in the Iceman are actually pretty good. Same set came in my IC300. Are you buying either one new or used?

Overall the Iceman is also closest to a Les Paul sort of specs and construction, which is basically the standard for Post metal bands like that. My vote is the Iceman.

Plus, that shape is just so stoner <3

Both used but very good condition.

Hmm, I'm leaning towards the Iceman now, but the evh is Japanese made....

I don't think Tokai's are spectacular guitars. Better off with the name brands.

That's what I'd guess (having not tried either).

The MIJ Tokais are great (if nowhere near as good value as they were ).

Non-MIJ, I'd tend to agree with you, not sure there's much point. But the MIJ ones are very good.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
